Lousada to Dr Angelo Luzzatto [i.e. Ephraim Luzzatto, the author] dated 17 December 1781 requesting that he urgently visit the sick child of Jacob Hs Cardozo; another letter to Dr Angelo Luzzatto from E. L. Pereira, Secretary of the Mahamad [council of elders in a Sephardi or Spanish Portuguese Jewish congregation], dated 23 December 1781 requesting that Dr Luzzatto appear before them and explain the tenor of his letter of 18 December 1781; and a report of when Dr Luzzatto appeared before the Mahamad on 27 December 1781.
