Comprises newspaper cuttings on various subject including health, the Christian religion and politics. The compiler may have been from Leeds as one is from the 'Leeds Mercury' newspaper and the bookmark, made from a scrap of a flyer, mentions Cardigan Road, Leeds.

Stories pasted in the volume include, among many others : Women in the year 2000; Romantic story of a university medal; Strange Lights in the sky; The possibility of lighting fires by electricity; How to be popular; The death of P.T Barnum; Flying machines: Their use in war; Rainmaking experiments; Death of a famous railway dog; Smugglling alcohol in a corset. They are incedibly varied and demonstrate the wide ranging interests of the compiler.
