Description

In the form of letters from Bromley and Caughey respectively. Bromley's letter to the Editor of the Bath and Cheltenham Gazette concerns a Mr. John M. Shum's letter to this newspaper about the controversy surrounding Bromley's proposed expulsion from the Wesleyan Methodist Church Conference in Bath, 1849. Caughey's letter similarly refers to the controversy at the Conference. Both letters view events from the point of view of their Methodist beliefs.
