Additional description

The first title, first heading on p.1, and imprint, have ornamental red lines scored by hand. Presentation inscription of first title, attributed to author by vendor, to Jane Evelyn, elder sister of John Evelyn (?). Contemporary inscription in another style on p.1 (verse paraphrase) addressed to the same Jane, encouraging or referring to her marriage (1647). Modern Evelyn book-label pasted inside front cover, with initials 'J.E.' (possibly Major J.H.C. Evelyn), and pencil Evelyn library classification above
