Presentation inscription signed to John Beale from John Evelyn above Imprimatur (which is dated Nov. 21. 1663), facing engraved title-page. Latin verses to Evelyn by Beale (A1r) have MS revisions, probably by Beale himself. Signature on printed title-page, Abraham Gill 1742 signature I. (or J?) Lee. Doctors Commons. 1828 on front pastedown with further notes in same hand below and on recto of flyleaf following front free endpaper and on verso of printed title-leaf. MS note on front pastedown: Repaired. Mr. Wilson 17/35 . Armorial bookplate. Bound in contemporary mottled calf rebacked in 19th century with red morocco spine labels original sides broken slightly into by corrosion corners damaged
