Description
Contains 39 maps of the counties (excluding Rutland) of England by Richard Blome, engraved by Wenceslaus Hollar and Richard Palmer. Some of the maps are variously dated 1667 to 1671. Some bear evidence of Blome's name having been erased from the title, and, in many cases, the name can still be seen. Blome's signature appears under the dedication on all the plates. A number of the dedications have been altered between the edition of 1681 and this one. The maps were later issued in Blome's Cosmography and Geography, 1693, and in Taylor's England Exactly Described of 1715--Whitaker: The Harold Whitaker Collection... Univ. of Leeds, 1947, p. 37.

The maps of this copy were originally folded into a pocket volume, 4 x 9 , but have been opened up and mounted on guards for better preservation
