Description
Cary's description and address on the maps of Berkshire and Wiltshire are altered to "Engraver & Mapseller, No. 181, Strand". The imprints on the maps of Buckinghamshire, Durham, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Leicestershire, Middlesex, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Staffordshire, and "Surry" are similarly altered, but leave out "No. 181". The map of Durham only, bears the date, "Jan. 1st 1793". Nearly all the maps show revision of the roads, etc. from the state shown in the original issue of 1787--Whitaker: The Harold Whitaker Collection... Univ. of Leeds, 1947, p. 55.
