Biography or history

Vickers, Sir C Geoffrey (b 1894). Born in Nottingham and educated at Arundel School and Merton College, Oxford. 2nd Lieutenant, later Major, serving with the 1st/7th Battalion, Nottinghamshire and Derby Regiment, 1st Battalion, Lincolnshjre Regiment on the Western Front, 1915-1916. He was awarded the VC (Victoria Cross). Later Lieutenant General.
