Childhood letter to sister, Joan; Letter to grandmother; Letters relating to his death in 1917; "Scarborough Pictorial" (5 May 1915) (pages 7-10 only, mainly photographs, including one of Tugwell); "Scarborough Weekly Post" (4 May 1917) (issue including notice of Tugwell's death); negatives of photograph of Tugwell and Roll of Honour. (Also ring-binder of newspaper etc cuttings about archaeology in Yorkshire assembled by F A Tugwell (father).)

Biography or history

Tugwell, Geoffrey (d 1917). Captain, 4th Yorkshire Regiment (Green Howards), serving on the Western Front. Killed in action, 23 Apr 1917.

The papers were placed in the Collection by Miss Ann Chaffers and Miss E Chaffers (nieces).
