Description

Contains 32 maps drawn and engraved by John Emslie, with the imprint "Published by J. Reynolds 174, Strand". In some cases, as many as four counties are given on a plate. The maps were re-issued, geologically coloured, in Reynolds' Geological atlas of Great Britain, 1860 and later. Cf. Whitaker: The Harold Whitaker Collection... Univ. of Leeds, 1947, p. 94.
