Spanish official document referencing, "Gitanos," [Gypsy, Travellers & Roma] and punishment for vagrancy, titled, "Pragmatica-sancion en fuerza de ley en que se dan nuevas reglas para contener y castigar la vagancia de los que hasta aqui se han conocido con el nombre de Gitanos, ò Castellanos nuevos, con lo demás que expresa."
Signed by the king (Charles III) and council.
'Auto' and 'Publicacion' at end signed: Juan Antonio de Braojos.
Lower half of last leaf (A8) cut away, with loss of first part of a manuscript note concerning the proclamation of the edict in Alcalá. On the reverse is the conclusion, followed by the signature of the town clerk of Alcalá, Juan Francisco de los Rios, and a further note, in a different hand, also signed by him. Manuscript (handwritten) notes throughout [marginalia].
