Biography or history
Hunt, Frederick H (b 1896). Private (later Sergeant), 2/5th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment, and MGC (Machine Gun Corps). Enlisted Oct 1914 and to France in Aug 1915 as part of the North Midland Division; Rouen, Ypres Salient and Hill 60 (where the trenches were only 60 yards apart); October 1915 gassed at Hohenzollern Redoubt, hospitalised at Bethune; Following return to unit contracted blood poisoning and returned to England; On recovery transferred to the MGC and eventually returned to France where was at La Bassee; Xmas 1917; Returned to Grantham, as an Instructor, in 1918.
