Fairfax's petition dated Jan. 15. 1649, referring to the Remonstrance of November 18, 1648.
With an initial imprimatur leaf. Text and signatures are continuous despite pagination. There are at least 3 variants of this work. Variant.1 which appears to be the earliest has an imprimatur on the titlepage worded "By the appointment of his Excellency, and the General Councel of Officers of the army... " with pagination as above. Page.26 is unsigned. Variant.2 (of which the Routh and Bamburgh copies are examples) has the imprimatur and pagination as in variant 1. with page.26 signed "John Rushworth." Variant 3. has the imprimatur "By the appointment of the General Councel of officers of the army ... " and has the correct pagination of 32 p.
