Unique extra-illustrated set, consisting of sheets of the second edition of Granger's Biographical history, 8vo, 4 vols., 1775, etc. inlaid in folio leaves and expanded to 31 volumes by the addition of c.4500 portraits etc., the printed index, interleaved with a manuscript index to the continuation by Noble, and a bound typescript index to the additional material, compiled by A.J. Symington, complete the whole.

The title-pages are specially printed, in black and red.
