Authorship of the Eikon basilike was originally attributed to Charles I, but according to Madan (pp. 125-33) it was written by John Gauden who probably included some authentic writings of the king.
Place of publication suggested by Wing.

Additional description
Wants frontispiece and four leaves of prayers and letter. With additional epitaph Whom Scotlands ayre on a folding leaf inserted at end (see Madan 29). Signatures of Elizabeth Welldale and Mary Thew, both dated 1607, on verso of first epitaph, and of Ruth Hamerton on verso of second epitaph. The gift of F.F. Madan.
