Revised from "An introduction of the eyght partes of speche" and "Institutio compendaria totius grammaticæ", which were revised and enlarged possibly by Richard Cox and others, from Colet's "Æditio" and Lily's "Rudimenta". Lily's name appears on the title-page on some later editions.
"Brevissima institutio" has separate pagination and title page dated 1641; register is continuous.
