A compilation of texts, primarily by William Lily, with contributions by John Colet, Thomas Robertson, and others. Portions of the text also published separately in various editions.
Revised from "An introduction of the eyght partes of speche" and "Insititutio compendaria totius grammaticæ" which were revised and enlarged, possibly by Richard Cox and others, from Colet's "Æditio" and Lily's "Rudimenta". Lily's name appears on the title-page of some later editions.
Text in English and Latin.
"Brevissima institutio" has separate pagination and title page dated MDCLIII; register is continuous.
