Description

Title refers to the compilation also known as Lily's grammar.

Page 64 wrongly numbered 94 (first part); p.19 misnumbered 91 (third part).

The second part has title "Syntax", and the third "Prosodia"; separate pagination, but the signatures are continuous.

Publisher's booklist [2pp] at end.

The attribution of this adaptation of Lily rests on a MS note in the Bodleian Library copy which reads "by Mr Wheeler of Glouc:", possibly Maurice Wheeler, a Gloucester headmaster. There appears to be no other supporting evidence. The attribution to William Walker by Wing is apparently an error: under William Walker as Wing W435, perhaps an error for a third edition of Walker's "The Royal Grammar explained".

Indexed in: Wing W1599.
