A satire on Sir Richard Steele. Attributed to both Jonathan Swift and William Wagstaffe.


Plate: frontispiece portrait engraved by M. van der Gucht.


Signatures: [A]², B-E⁴.


Half-title reads: "Toby's character of Mr. St--le".


"Toby" was Edward King, nephew of Abel Roper, whose portrait was used as a frontispiece; he was not the author of the piece - ESTC.
