Description

1702 reissue of the 1701 first edition. The title-page is a cancel, the separate part-titles all bearing the date 1701.

Transverse chain-lines, except for the title-leaf.

Additional description

A general part-title to the first three tragedies is possibly misplaced at the end of the first gathering. (The catchword of the previous leaf does not correspond to the first word.) This may be the missing leaf, C7. A one-page booklist is followed by the stubs of the last two leaves (blanks?). Signatures on front flyleaf: Sir James Stonhouse, bart., physician and divine, 1716-1795 (signature dated, Winchester College, 1731); his grandson, George Henry Vansittart, general, 1768-1824
