Description

A translation of parts 1-2 of: Palmerin of England.

The original is variously considered to have been a Portuguese work by Francisco de Moraes or a Spanish work by Luis de Hurtado.

"The English translation contains verses by Dekker, Webster, and others, and seems to have been the work of Munday in part only"--NUC Pre-1956.

Signatures: A-2D⁸; A⁴ B-2E⁸ 2F⁴.

The second part has separate dated title-page and register.

Munday's reference to a third part and the colophon, are on leaf Ff3r,v, of part 2.

The first leaf is blank except for signature-mark "A" with ornaments; the last leaf is blank.

Indexed in: STC (2nd ed.) 19164.

In part 2, leaves Ee7 and 8 are misbound in reverse order, as are leaves Ee1 and Ee2. Wanting the first leaf of each part and the last of part 2, probably all blanks. A few headlines shaved throughout. Armorial bookplate of Lord Braybrooke pasted inside front cover
