With copious manuscript notes in the hand of Thomas Percy, bishop of Dromore, relating to his recollections of James Bruce's account in 1774 of his travels in Abyssinia, which, as Bishop Percy indicates in a later note, differed from the later published account. Inserted are two cuttings from the 'Northumberland Mercury' of October 1774 describing Bruce's travels. These are annotated by Bishop Percy, who ascribes the article to James Boswell
