Description

"Seven hundred and fifty copies... have been printed in England at the Shakespeare Head press."

The narrative (including Scott's poems and letters to Jessie) is given in the unknown author's own language, from a manuscript work of 2 vols., with title, "Sir Walter Scott and his contemporaries", which was probably written in 1838-1839, and is now in the Library of the South Kensington Museum. Four of the letters were first printed in the Centenary edition of Scott's letters, 1932.
