The first two volumes reset in London without press figures; sheets A-N of the third volume re-set in Edinburgh with a different arrangement of press figures (the later issue can be identified by press figure '3' rather than the original '8' on p. 16). These issues being put together in various ways. (See Todd and Bowden for further clarification.).
In v. 2 of the London issue the colophon reads: Edinburgh: Printed by James Ballantyne and Co.
The "advertisment" in v. 1 (dated 1st November, 1821.), is in triplicate setting, identified by: p. iv, ln. 5, first word is either: 'it', 'thumbs', or 'then'. --cf. Todd and Bowden.
Cancels can be found: v. 1, p. 63-64 (if this leaf is a cancel then there is no press figure on p. 64, if the leaf is integral with the volume then there is a press figure 11); v. 2, p. 17-18 where the last word on p. 17, ln. 20 has been corrected from 'their' to 'there'.
