A letter from Nichols to Sir Christopher Pegge, dated March 18th, 1808, is tipped in at the front of the first volume, and supplies information on the collection a fire at Nichols's warehouse apparently destroyed all the remaining stock of Pegge's works, some of the items in these 2 volumes being therefore the sole survivors (unfortunately not indentified by Nichols)
