Description

An entirely different translation (attributed, probably erroneously, to Phillip Massinger) from STC 17665, published in the same year with the same title but with 62pp. only, and wrongly described by STC and BM as an abridged version of STC 17664.

The original French text (Paris, 1617) was supposedly written to represent the rise and fall of Concino Concini, maréchal d'Ancres, assassinated 1617, and his wife, Leonora Dori Galigaï; this expanded English version is said to have been adapted as a satire on George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham.

E3 unsigned; pages 53 & 105 wrongly numbered 35 & 150 respectively.
