Description
Foxon W46.2, attributed to Edward Ward on the basis of an identical first line and similar length to Ward's "The ambitious father: or, The politician's advice to his son", [1730?/31]. The two texts however have not been collated, and the Brotherton Collection copy bears a contemporary MS ascription on its title page to "Lord Pagit", almost certainly Thomas Catesby Paget, baron Paget, 1689-1741/2.
