The disticha, wrongly attributed to Marcus Porcius Cato, in fact dates from imperial times.


The leaves of the original are numbered 2-34 in manuscript, with note on the first, "f. 1 wanting".


Prefatory note signed: Francis Jenkinson.


250 copies, printed from a copy believed to be unique, being the second in a volume of eight short tracts printed by Caxton belonging to the library of the University of Cambridge.
