According to J.R. Moore, 'A checklist of the writings of Daniel Defoe', no. 36, "This poem appears always without a title-page, in many texts which vary considerably. It is printed (or referred to) under several other titles, such as 'A letter to a Member of Parliament', 'The Ballad', 'A Poem', and 'A Satyr upon --- ---'.
