Description

The final catchword, unanswered is "GIDEON:".

Based on a poem begun by Hill about 1716, the publication of which was postponed until 1749 when this edition, containing three books appeared; the others promised (of. Introd. to the reader) apparently never published. Hill's authorship of book III questioned by Halkett & Laing, Brit. mus. Catalogue.
