Description

The playhouse referred to is the Queen's Theatre, Haymarket, but the title is misleading, since this tract is entirely devoted to considerations of the moral aspects of the theater in general.

Text dated 'Michaelmas day, Sept., 29th, 1705' at end.

Attributed to Jeremy Collier by BM, NUC and Halkett and Laing, but to Josiah Woodward (author of 'Some thoughts concerning the stage, in a letter to a lady', 1704) by NCBEL.

ESTC t070869.
