Description

One of two editions published by Williams in 1670, with different ornaments and with text differently set. Differences include: on p.5 of this ed.: space between Iter and Boreale measures 5 mm, the other measures 11 mm; the space between George and Monck measures 7 mm, the other measures 11 mm; capital W appears as W in this ed., and as VV in other ed.; on p. 6, line 14 reads: '... Crust of Dough.', the other has '... crust of dough.' On final page, the last line of the text reads: ' ... near nighbors are.', the other has ' ... neer neighbours are.'.


"The recantation of a penitent Proteus", "The fair quarrel", and "Upon the rebuilding the city" each have special t.p. dated 1668-70.


"Upon the rebuilding the city" (4 leaves, signed I on the second leaf) is separately entered by Wing as W 2154.
