Description
"The life of William Drummond": p. i-xi.
Edited by Bishop Sage and Thomas Ruddiman.
The collation given by L.E. Kastner in his edition of Drummond's Poetical works, 1913 (v. 1: p. lxxxvi-lxxxviii) lists only one portrait, and that as "inserted". The frontispiece is a large portrait, with arms below, and inscription: William Drummond of Hawthornden. born J585. dyed J649. The second portrait, preceding the life, is small, with name and dates around the oval, the dates written J585 and J649.
The "History of the lives and reigns of the five James's, kings of Scotland"(p. 1-116) has special t.p.; the poems have special t.p. and separate paging.
"A catalogue of the author's works"--p. xlv (sig. m1).
ESTC T125750.
Additional description
Wanting the second portrait. The title to The history of the lives and reigns of the five James [m2 ?] is bound after p.xx, and not after p.xlv [m1]
