Description
Signatures: a8 b-c8 B-2K8.
A page-for-page reprint of the first edition.
Pages 22, 142, and 143 misnumbered 20, 143, and 142; numbers 431-432 repeated in pagination.
Title within double-ruled border, head-pieces, initials.
a1 is blank; the printed title (presumably a cancel, since the chainlines, vertical in the rest of a, are here horizontal) is a2. Three stubs, evidently those of the frontispiece, engraved title and cancel printed title, between a7 and a8.
Leaves b7 and b8 signed A3 and A4 respectively.
Engraved frontispiece and added engraved title page are each on a separate leaf between the initial blank (a1) and the title (a2). Both are derived from Marshall's plates for the first edition, with altered date on engraved title page.
Wing S2505.
Additional description
Two cut-down leaves from a work in Latin, printed in double columns and headed Ethicorum Liber Sextus, are used as flyleaves at the beginning and end of the volume. The frontispiece is misbound to follow the engraved title
