The first half of the work is a suppositious translation from the English by von Holbach.
"Dissertation critique sur les tourmens de l'enfer. Ouvrage dans lequel on examine & l'on détruit les fondemens de cette doctrine, & l'on prouve qu'il n'y aura point après cette vie de tourmens éternels..." (p. [97]-160) is a translation of Samuel Richardson's "Of the torments of hell", although the original has been attributed by Barbier (Dict. d. anon.) to one Whitefoot.
