Description

Scating was originally published in 1699 in Latin, as by Philip Frowde, but in the Preface (by T.N.) to this edition, it is attributed to Addison.


Latin text, headed "Cursus glacialis", precedes English text. Translation attributed to Thomas Newcomb.


Half-title: 'Mr Addison's poem upon scating and Mr. Pope's verses to the Lady Mary Wortley Montague'.
