Part-title on [.1] reads: "Abhandlung über die Aechtheit und Unverfälschtheit der von Herrn Mac-Pherson herausgegebenen Gedichte Ossians, in Beziehung zugleich auf diese neu aufgefunden Gedichte dieses celtischen Barden. Part-title (p.81) reads: "Einleitung des englischen Uebersezers, Herrn Young's". The body of the work consists of a translation of "Ancient Gaelic poems respecting the race of the Fians, collected in the Highlands of Scotland in the year 1784. By M. Young" (Transactions of the Royal Irish Academy, vol.1, Antiquities, pp.43-119, 1787), although not reproduced in the original order.
