"The controversial notes of the 1582 Rheims New Testament, reissued in the 1816 Dublin, R.Coyne (begun by McNamara) Bible edition, are now ascribed to Richard Bristow (1538-1581). (The O.T. notes in that ed. were primarily those of Bp. Challoner's 18th cent. revision.) The 1818 Cork, McNamara edition included sundry "fresh matters": cf. A.S. Herbert, Hist. cat. (1968), ad 1634" - National union catalog pre-1956 imprints.
