At foot of titlepage: "No.", the actual number to be inserted in MS.; a variant is without "No." at the foot of the titlepage. - A price list entitled 'A marked catalogue containing the lots' was published in the same year.
The catalogue was drawn up by John Lightfoot, who was the "librarian and chaplain" of the Duchess of Portland according to John Nichols (John Nichols. Literary anecdotes of the eighteenth century, 1812; vol. 3, p. 670 notes)
Misnumbered pages: 59 instead of 51 and 137 instead of 162.
Bedford Collection copy B296 has no frontispiece and excerpts from another publication about the Portland Vase in the British Museum [page 294 visible] bound at the end.
