Derived in part from the work attributed to Alessio Piemontese (possibly pseud. of Girolamo Ruscelli), the first ed. of which bore title: De' secreti del reverendo donno Alessio Piemontese sei libri. Venezia, S. Bordogna, 1555. First translated into Latin and published, with additions, by Wecker under title: D. Alexeii Pedemontani De secretis libri sex... Ex italico in latinum sermonē nunc primum translati per J.J. Weckerum. Basileæ , 1559 -- Melzi, Mazzuchelli, Graesse, Brunet, Jöcher, British Museum Catalogue, Hirsch, etc.
