Description
This anonymous work, originally published in Latin as "Lucerna super candelabrum". has been attributed to Peter Balling and to Adam Boreel. Furly's English version is translated from the Dutch translation, "Licht op den candelaar". The erroneous description of this English translation as an independent work by William Ames (e.g. in Wing, and in the British Museum Catalogue) arises from a misreading of the title-page wording.
The work by Ames, referred to on the title-page, is his "De Verhozgentheden van het Rijcke Godts", of which no English version is known.
Indexed in: Wing A3007; Smith I, 27.
