Written by Charles Palissot de Montenoy in imitation of Alexander Pope's Dunciad. Cf. Barbier.
Imprint fictitious; probably of Paris origin on examination of printing practices. Date on t.p.; signatures at right margin, with roman numerals (i.e. iv); quire-catchwords. Cf. Compositorial practices and the localization of printed books 1530-1800 / by R.A. Sayce.
Paris given as place of publication by Weller.
Verso of half title and of t.p. (p. [2] and [4]), p. [148], and p. [1] at end are blank.
Includes French translation of Pope's Dunciad, p. [147]-299, with half title: La Dunicade de Pope, au Dr. Jonathan Swift.
With a letter from F.M.A. de Voltaire to Nicolas Fraņois de Neufchâteau.
