Identified by Madan as "second edition" with 2 square blocks added to title-page and text reset; epigram has mis-spelling "mali" for "mala".
Purporting to be in the king's own words, but probably the work of John Gauden.
Pagination irregular.

Broad stub of frontispiece, guarded in, remains facing p. 1, and a frontispiece (no.1, state i, ii, or iii, but with roof panels cut off) has been guarded in facing flyleaf. Alterations in MS on pp. 42, 49, 53 and 59. Ms inscription on back of frontispiece reading My God my God why hast thou forsaken . With signatures of Mary Lees (p. 1), William Cotgrave (p. 33), and Thomas Todd (facing p. 1 and on p. 33). Deposited from the Brotherton Library. The gift of F.F. Madan
