Description

Unchecked radio scripts for New Verse (recorded 6 August and 12 October 1954), and New Poetry (for broadcast 9 January 1955 and 7 July 1964). New Verse for 6 August 1954 is chosen and introduced by W.S. Graham, and includes Silkin's 'Caring for Animals'; New Verse for 12 October 1954 is chosen and introduced by Roy Fuller, but includes no reference to Silkin. New Poetry for January 1955 is introduced by G.S. Fraser, but makes no reference to Silkin; New Poetry for July 1964 is introduced by Philip Hobsbaum and includes Silkin's 'Moss' (from 'Flower Poems'), as well as poems by Thomas Blackburn and Ken Smith.Also held in this file are ms notes/lists which appear to relate to planning for Silkin's radio talks on Anglo-Jewish poetry: see file Brotherton Collection MS 20c Silkin/7/9/5.
