Description

Title vignette.

Edited by James Currie.

Exact relation to earlier editions not certain. Not "a reprint of Dr. Currie's second edition" (Gibson), but most likely of the 4th ed. (1803), to judge by the contents; cf. Egerer 61, 71, 78, 98.

"In the fourth edition, several new letters were introduced, and some of inferior importance were omitted"--v. 2, p. viii. This does not appear to agree with Egerer's descriptions of the changes in contents between eds., but his account of the 3rd and 4th eds. is sketchy.

Collations: v. 1: [A] b B-2B 2C 2D; xii, 395, [1] p. (last page blank), [1] leaf of plates -- v. 2: [A] [a] b B-2G 2H; xxiv, 470, [2] p. (last leaf blank) -- v. 3: [A]1 b B-2C 2D 2E(-2E8); [iii]-xii, 422 p. -- v. 4: [A] b B-2D; xxiv, 414, [2] p. (last leaf blank).
