Audio recording made by the British Council of James Kirkup (Gregory Fellow in Poetry, 1950-1952) reading poems from his collections 'A Correct Compassion' (1952), 'A Spring Journey' (1954), 'The Descent into the Cave' (1957) and 'The Prodigal Son' (1959). Each poem is preceded by a title announcement. The poems include:
