Description
This subfonds comprises audio recordings created and collected as part of the activities of the Poetry Room. The earliest recordings appear to predate the opening of the Poetry Room, but many relate to the Poetry Room's own recording activities and the exchange of recordings of poets reading with the British Council and the Poetry Room at Harvard University. CD copies of some recordings are available for consultation in the reading room.
Provenance
Audio recordings on reel-to-reel tape were transferred from the School of English Library at the University of Leeds to Special Collections in the Brotherton Library in October 2005 and April 2006.
System of arrangement
The reference numbers originally assigned to the tapes have largely been retained, e.g. T1, PS44.
