Description

This file and notebook contain items relating to 'The Laidly Worm', a play for children by Crossley-Holland based on an ancient story, and performed at the Leeds University Workshop Theatre in June 1971. Includes an annotated typescript of the play, dated Jan/April 1971 (48 ff.), and a red spiral-bound notebook containing ms drafts and background research for the play (ca. 1970; many pages blank). A ts note pasted to the inside front cover of the notebook notes that the play was commissioned for a fee of £50 by/for Brian Wilkes (Dept of Education, University of Leeds), and lists 'ground rules.'
