Description
This series contains items concerned with Crossley-Holland's involvement with The Group, an informal group of poets who met in London from the mid 1950s to the mid 1960s. The Group was founded at Cambridge in 1952 by Philip Hobsbaum and others connected with the literary magazine 'Delta', and counted some of the Gregory Fellows in Poetry as members, including Peter Redgrove (a founder member), Martin Bell and Kevin Crossley-Holland. Before each meeting poems by one poet would be typed, duplicated and distributed to the dozen or so participants for discussion. The papers in this series relate to and contain examples of this process, and include correspondence and examples of poems (usually annotated).
