Description
The first four files contain 102 items of correspondence concerned with the Kevin Crossley-Holland Christmas carol 'Pilgrim Jesus', including letters between Crossley-Holland and composer Stephen Paulus, Stephen Cleobury (Director of Music at King's College), and Nick Nash (Minnesota Commissioning Club), as well as correspondence with personal contacts relating to the carol and its performance.
The fifth file contains: typescript and manuscript letters and emails, some annotated, between Kevin Crossley-Holland and others. The material encompasses, but is not limited to: the programme, containing 'Pilgrim Jesus', for its debut in the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at King’s College, Cambridge, Christmas Eve, 1996; annotated typescript for the programme of the 2003 festival; various programmes containing 'Pilgrim Jesus'; copies and responses to KCh's poem 'The Heart in Waiting'; publicity for 'Pilgrim Jesus', including photographs and newspaper article clippings; the published sheet music.
